Pantajupes are a thing here haha.. They're great.. They're like the pants that Jasmine wears in the movie Aladdin

Up in the mountains in Farino.. Such a gorgeous view and you can see the ocean on the other side!

I am definitely on Sœur White's back haha

Insert a Sector Here?

Well... It has been quite the interesting week... We moved to La Foa last Tuesday and after a chain of events we went and stayed with the STLs on Thursday night and have been with them ever since.... But that is a story for another day(: Word on the street is that we will be moving to the sector of Tontuta this Friday. I am still keeping my companion so that means we are still white washing. Yay! Until then we will be with STLs in Koutio.

Besides that, I've been thinking a lot about what it means to come unto Christ. In 1 Nephi 21:14-16 it tells us that Christ will never forget us, but how could He? We are graven upon the palms of His hands! He is always reminded of His sacrifice for all of His brothers and sisters. Stories of Christ tell of Him inviting the people to feel His wounds one bye one to show the reality of His sacrifice and His love for us. He is always there. He will never forget. In Alma 46:8 it says "Thus we see how quick the children of men do forget the Lord their God". In Mormon 5:2 it tells how the people "did struggle for their lives without calling upon that Being who created them". We are the ones who choose to walk away, but we are also the ones who can choose to come unto Him. There is no reason to suffer in silence. If you feel like there is no where to turn, turn to the one who has never and will never forget us even after we have walked away. He has said that "[His] yoke is easy, and [His] burden is light". His sacrifice for us was never a burden to Him. WE are not a burden to Him. He wants to help us because He loves us and does so with open arms and a willing heart because "He denieth none that come unto Him" (2 Nephi 26:33). I extend the same invitation as President Uctdorf: "if you feel small and weak, please simply come unto Christ, who makes weak things strong".

I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know He lives and there is not a moment that passes by that we should ever have to walk alone. If we walk with our hand in His and our other hand on the iron rod we cannot and will not fail. He is the way. He is the sure source of peace and hope in this life. He understands all. He has lived it all and would do it again if He had to. Please turn to Him. Invite others to turn to Him and you will find the joy in each day. This is my testimony and I leave it with you in His name, Jesus Christ, amen.

Your Missionary,

Sœur Stahura

PS: I encourage you to read the words of Hymn 117 "Come Unto Jesus"

La Foa 1

The fun part about unreliable internet is that it is always a pleasant surprise to get my email on a different day! Ha!

If you didn't already figure it out... I got transfered! I will now be serving in La Foa with my trainer so that means we are white washing the sector! So the two elders that were serving in this area left and we came in and get to figure this place out together because neither of us know the area.. Woo! That's okay, I am pretty excited to have kind of like a fresh start!

This week was so crazy and I wish I could tell you everything!

Funny story... Well funny for others... Not really funny for me... We went to see an investigator last week and it is banana season so we get bananas from everyone and Sothia handed me a bag of bananas and we were talking for a minute and I looked down because I felt something on me and there was a HUGE spider on my arm!!! I flipped! I was not a happy camper.. Then when we got home I was all excited to eat the bananas but when I took them out there were nasty looking bugs crawling in the bundle of bananas... I said nope these are being peeled and frozen, these are NOT staying on our counter haha.

I also got bit by a dog on Friday.. That was fun. But don't worry, it is healing just fine.. Promise(:

Okay time for a spiritual thought: I don't know why this came to my mind when I was thinking about what to share with you but I want to share something my mission President said at zone conference back in August: "Be the missionary the Master wants you to be, who needs you to be, and in many ways knows you already are". I truly think this can apply to any calling that we hold: We are called to where the Lord needs us to be. So what I want you to do is to replace the word missionary with whatever calling you hold whether it be a bishop, nursery leader, relief society president, mother, father, brother, sister, sunday school teacher, YSA rep, etc and remember no matter how tough things get, He has you right where He wants you as long as you are being obedient, seeking inspiration, and giving it all you've got.

I want to bear my testimony to you that I know without a shadow of a doubt that this Church is true. There is no greater joy and peace that comes in this life than knowing that we are children of a Heavenly Father and He has provided us with the way back home. All that Christ ever asks of us is to come unto Him. Let Him change you. Pray continually. Let Heavenly Father know all throughout the day that you have not forgotten Him. I promise He hears you and will be with you as much as you let Him. Search for the blessings in each day and I promise you will see Him working in your life and as you recognize Him each day you will see that He is really there and will bless you with His presence more and more.

Thank you for all of your prayers I can honestly feel all of the love and support from across the world and my heart is filled with so much gratitude.

Love always,

Sœur Stahura

Bourail 4

Bonjour tout le monde!

Wow! It was such a good week and it is so hard to pick what to share! So much to say and not enough time to say it. That is okay. That just means you will have lots to look forward to when I get home!

I will start with a fun story (: We had just finished one lesson and had about twenty minutes to spare before our next lesson. So we parked our car by our next appointment and decided to go knock on some doors. We can only knock on certain doors btw... The others we have to stand at the end of the driveway and yell "Bonjour"  and pray that they hear us haha. Good times (: Anyway... We got to one door where there was obviously someone home so we knocked... no answer... knocked again... no answer... So I told Soeur Todd to do the knock from the movie Frozen... IT WORKED!! Next door... SAME THING!! Haha the Frozen knock works :P You gotta make missionary work fun (:

Okay, a more spiritual story. All of our appointments fell through on Friday so we decided to go contacting for a couple hours. We walked out on the main road and through some of the neigborhoods contacting along the way. We had about forty minutes left before lunch and were back to where we started. We did not know what to do next so we decided to stop and pray right there on the side of the road. We prayed and got back to walking. As we were walking, I had a house come to my mind and I thought for sure Soeur Todd would know which house I was talking about but she had no clue. So, we just went with it because we were already headed in that direction. We got there and talked to a very sweet lady, Angelic. Shortly after her finacé came out and told her it was time for lunch so we had just enough time to give her a pamphlet, testify, and get her number to fix a return appointment. They have a little boy and will be getting married soon and all I could think about was their family being sealed in the temple. We walked away with huge smiles on our faces and knew it was only by the spirit and Heavenly Father's perfect timing that we contacted her.

So everyone has been asking about New Caledonia but I don't think my words could do it justice. It is so beautiful and eveyday I am truly amazed. All things truly denote there is a God. So over here on the other side of the world it is turning to summer while it is turning to winter in America. The days are getting warmer but the weather is so beautiful. I love it. For now haha I am sure it is about to get real hot. Everything is in degress celsius so I never actually know what the temperture is haha. Anyway, save your money and come here one day(: There are many different cultures and the people are so nice and it is just like one big family (: That is all for now.

Je vous aime!!
